Instagram Reels for real estate listings: what actually works

Length, format, first seconds, text on screen and music — a practical checklist for listing Reels that people watch to the end.

Instagram Reels for real estate listings: what actually works

Format and length

Reels are vertical (9:16). Aim for 15–30 seconds: about 10 photos at 2–3 seconds each. Longer videos lose viewers before the end, and the end is where your contact is.

The first two seconds

Open on your strongest image — the living room with light, the pool, or the view. Not the front door, not a hallway. Put the price and city on screen right away so the right buyers stop scrolling.

Text on screen

  • Price and location
  • Bedrooms, bathrooms and size
  • Your name or agency, and how to reach you

Keep text large and inside the safe area, away from the bottom of the screen where the caption and buttons sit.

Movement

Slow, smooth camera moves look premium. Fast zooms and shaky pans look cheap and can make rooms look distorted.

Music

Use music you are allowed to publish. Royalty-free tracks are safe on every platform; you can also add a trending sound inside Instagram.

Reuse it everywhere

The same vertical video works as a TikTok and a YouTube Short. Make a horizontal 16:9 version for portals and your website.

Imoframe exports both formats from the same photos and puts the price, rooms, logo and contact on the video in 11 languages.
