Answer

Can I make a vertical (9:16) video from horizontal listing photos?

Yes, but each photo gets cropped: a vertical frame only keeps about the middle third of a horizontal photo (608 of 1920 pixels across), so the video looks zoomed in and softer. With horizontal photos, a horizontal 16:9 video shows every room in full; for Reels and TikTok, take the photos vertically or use a tool that extends the photo instead of cutting it.

A horizontal photo is 16:9 or 3:2; a Reel or TikTok is 9:16. To fill the tall frame, the sides of the photo are cut off, and what is left is enlarged to 1080 × 1920. A room shot from the corner can lose most of its furniture and windows.

Three ways to do it well: keep a horizontal 16:9 video for portals, YouTube and your website; shoot the photos you'll use for Reels with the phone held upright; or extend each horizontal photo above and below (ceiling, floor, sky) with an AI fill instead of cropping it — Imoframe's studio can do this, and it shows a warning because the added parts are generated.

Before ordering a video, the free listing photo checker (imoframe.com/tools/listing-photo-checker) tells you whether your photos are horizontal or vertical and which format suits them. It runs in your browser and uploads nothing.
