How do I write a real estate listing description?

Open with what makes the home stand out, walk through the space in the order a visitor would, then give the location and a short closing line — 120 to 180 words for most portals. Use only facts you can back up, describe the home rather than who should live there, and say "primary bedroom" rather than "master bedroom".

Portals show the first two or three lines before "read more", so the opening sentence carries most of the weight: the view, the light, the renovation, the garden — whatever a buyer will remember.

Then follow the visit: entrance, living space, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, outside. Give sizes and counts exactly as they are; never round up or guess a distance.

In the US, fair housing rules apply to ads: avoid phrases about who the home suits, such as "perfect for families" or "ideal for a young couple", and anything about religion, origin, age or disability.
